Nope. Doesnt appear on any Intel docs I can find.
Looks like the black anodising has been stripped.
$200, good luck. $20 more like it. |

Thanks, our cost on this is over $100 so it looks like we're going to need some luck. I don't believe anything was stripped. I saw some pics of the Q004's that are appear to have a similar top.

Answer is : yes I do not saw silver Pro ES before. And because of that I suspect it was done by some kind of luquid - I see something like corrosion. Engine in my car was cleaned by wrong chemical and effect was exactly same - many small spots like a chemical got a reaction with aluminium.

It really depends on the lighting but I've seen other "silver" PPro 1MB Q's. Here is an example:

You have posted link to "normal colour" version. Flash light was reflected on that picture but don't tell me that's looking similarly to yours

That pic looks similar to me... FWIW, some of the other pics we took either at a different angle or without a flash make it appear more like the "normal" color. I'm not an expert but again, the one we have doesn't look like anything was altered in any way. You may be right though.

ccsolutions, I think maybe your eyes are failing. Add more carrots or maybe rest your right arm a little.
Marcin is correct, the second link you posted is a normal Intel cpu with black anodising. The auction link you posted is for a silver ( called natural ) anodised finish, but to my eye that looks like it has been chemically stripped. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. |

can you please confirm the FPO code is I646201Q-0013 ?
are the markings on top printed or etched into the aluminium ?
and also whether there is any trace of markings on the die side ?

Yes, that is the FPO code. The markings on the top are printed. There appears to be faint "dotted lines" on the bottom that look similar to a "normal" processor. I'm not sure if they are traces though.

| The other idea is to run the CPU and look at the CPUID. It would help, but it wouldnt be conclusive. |
