|
|
Have just successfully upgraded my Compaq Evo D500 CPU from 1.7GHz to a 3.06GHz. When I run any CPU diagnostic it shows 3.06Ghz as expected at a frequency of 1196MHz.
My question is does 1196MHz seem low because I'm not getting the an increase in performance as expected?
If it is low, what have I missed & what can I do?
Any comments will be much appreciated. |

Run a task which stress CPU and then check actual speed again. You can use Prime95, SuperPi and others.
If clock speed will stay same then your CPU isn't supported by your OEM motherboard (CPUID not present on microcode list of the BIOS). You can try and update BIOS.
If that will not help you then you can check if that is possible to do like from this link :

PS. If shows 1196 MHz then it really works on that slow speed 3,06GHz is only "model name". _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
