Intel C8080 in good condition, sold for $1,241:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280666591478

Intel C3002, sold for $382:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250811107505

When I started collecting, by pure luck I bought a lot of 10 Intel C3002 chips for about $100 in similar condition. To bad I traded all spares...

Yes it is best time (in our history) to sell spare chips now. I hope prices will be higher in the future and getting chips will be much harder that is what fascinate us.

Unusual Intel Pentium 4 3.6 GHz SL7J9, also marked as "ENGINEERING SAMPLE", and "INTEL INTERNAL USE ONLY", was recently sold for $18 + shipping:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220775478107

If you missed it you can still buy SL7J9 sample from a seller in Israel for a mere $1600 Smile :

Seems like free advertisement in CPU-World forum helped Smile

Here is another interesting recent auction for Intel memory paperweight:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300554834458&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I thought it would fetch more than $105 for this rare item. This site has more pictures of the paperweight:

http://www.chipsetc.com/intel-paperweights.html

Memorabilia collection on that site is very impressive.

Another interesting auction - MITS Altair with Intel C8080-8 sold for $2999.99:

http://cgi.ebay.com/MITS-Altair-8800-w-Intel-C8080-8-CPU-Manuals-222299K-/310318206731?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4840680f0b

C8080-8 is worth more than $1000, maybe $1500, which makes MITS Altair kind of cheap Smile

Ahh, blast...I made an offer on this hoping that the price would come down and he said he would drop the price if it wasn's sold. Did anyone from here buy it?

Well, we'll know who bought once the buyer or seller leaves feedback.

I couple of extra chips were sold in the past two days. Extremely rare Intel MC8080A was sold for $1450:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320705389508&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Also very rare, white ceramic F6802L with date code 7849, sold for about $43:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250826394882&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Conclusion: it's much cheaper to collect 680x series processors Smile

I didn't want to spend much money on this one because I was bidding on two manufacturing scrap auctions. I actually won one of them:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120729775772&si=G0rZBWjvBebr6%252BcGzTmCv%252BmrWnI%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT

There is a lot of oddball stuff there.
