I wish to inform you that I'm a newbie in this site & I have little knowledge about computer hardware. I'm planning to buy a G41 based mobo and I have came up with 3 choices: MSI G41M-P25, Asus P5G41-M LE and a Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2P. The MSI board, according to their website, has a PCIe Bus spec V1.0 compliant PCIE x 16 slot, I'm not sure about the Asus board, the website didn't specify it. But the Gigabyte board I suppose has a 2.0 spec coz the website states that it can run at x16. I'm asking this coz I'm also planning to install a 2.0 compliant ATI Radeon graphics card later. Does it mean that a 1.0 spec slot will run only at 8x? I'm not sure if this is the correct interpretation, please correct me if I'm wrong. Does it have any noticable difference in performance if I install a 2.0 compliant graphics card in a 1.0 spec PCIE x 16 slot? Which board is much better aside from MSI? Any sound advice shall be appreciated. Many thanks..

If you put any VGA card in x16 port then it should work on x16. Exception are only some Intel chipsets which had a defect in recognizing PCI-E operation mode. From that what I know the issue was only in P31/P35 chipsets.
