I've made a couple of important changes to the Recent eBay auctions page:
http://www.cpu-world.com/cgi-bin/BrowseEAuctions.pl
Now all submitted auctions are broken by category - CPUs/FPUs/MCUs, memory, other chips, boards, manuals, and so on. As a result, searching/filtering should be easier in non-CPU categories, as those don't have as many items. I also added chip rarity. From now on all auctions for uncommon, rare or very rare chips will be highlighted on the browse auctions page, and visually identifying them should be easier.
There were a small changes to the submission page as well. You can now select category and rarity for each chip. The submission page is now better at grabbing auction picture, and part guessing algorithm was improved.

I'm guessing Genna is using a script to run thru completed listings titles.
This will capture most, but listings with poor titles & only pictures of collectible chips would get missed in this process.
These would have to be manually added.. like the 2 nice CPUs you got in your last lot _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

No, I don't do that. There is no guaranteed way for a script to determine what is listed in the auction, therefore I have to update it manually. Using saved searches helps a lot, and there is also a script that guesses category, manufacturer, family, and part number from the title. I do it once a week, and spend about two - three hours doing it.

wow.. thats quite a bit of work
so are you targeting only well listed auctions & BINs to show true market values?
I personally avoid well listed auctions and prefer cheap BINs or poorly listed auctions.. so i often buy at well below market value.
Are these valid for your database?
for example this lot I purchased for under $50 shipped

I want to collect enough data, so I can generate some nice graphs of the price changes over time for well known vintage chip families. Besides, two-three hours a week is not that much. I was spending more before when I was actively looking for good deals.

$305 / 38 pieces = $8.03each _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

I've made a few changes to the "recent eBay auctions" pages:
- Added <All categories> option to the list of categories. This is useful if you don't know the category where the chip could be found.
- You can now edit your own submissions. Browse the list of auctions, find the one you submitted, and you will see "Edit" button on the auction details page.
- Easier way to find all recent auctions, that you submitted, is to go to this page:
http://www.cpu-world.com/sc/
and click on the "Recent eBay auctions (my submissions)" link. On the next page, you will see a list of your submissions, and from there you select any auction to view or edit it.

of the ones I have been adding.. I have left the auction title unchanged giving little idea of what the item actually item was on many.
but adding additional info of item in comments
Shall I continue following that process? _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:
