If you can't clean it with alcohol try acetone - it usually works faster. Acetone won't damage the die or plastic pga/bga processor chip soldered on the Slot 1 board. Do not use acetone to clean plastic case of Slot 1/Slot A processors - you'll ruin it!

ive never had any problems with cleaning slot processors with acetone
the only damage ive ever done with acetone is disolving the glue that holds the foam pads on athlon chips on, and having those fall off. |

Maybe I need to be more gentle when cleaning the processors I tried really hard to clean that Athlon.

oh well, rubbing alcohol works good for me .. i havent used acetone in a while, but since im running out of rubbing alcohol ill probably use it again. guess ill steer clear of using it on cartridge chips tho
rubbing alcohol is safe for most chips anyhow, ive left a bunch of them bathign in it overnight with no problems |

Yes that is bad looking job with aceton It does not have a sense to use aceton. Extract benzin have same clearing power and it is more friendly to processors packages or description (ink) _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
