Hi,

I have two strange chips here - P8096 ES and A8097 ES

I have found some information about them in internet (they are microcontrollers), but I have still some questions.

- What does "ES" mean? Does it mean "Engineering Sample" or is it just a part / sspec number?
- What type of package has the P8096 microcontroller? It is not PLCC-68.
- Does anybody know where the microcontrollers of this type are used?
- And last but not least -
How rare are they, and what would they be worth? I will not sale them under any circumstancens, but I'd like to know it.

Thank you for any assistance

http://www.cpushack.net/IntelMicrocontrollers.html has lots of info on the MCS-96 family of microcontrollers

That package is what is refered to as an untrimmed PLCC.

They have been used in everything from hard drives to autos.

Value? no one seems to collect much for microcontrollers (except me lol)

I'd say about $15-$20 each

P8049 ES is my actual fav.
