It depends, read your motherboard manual. If the mobo does not support this voltage, than what are we talking about? _________________ Collecting soviet and western CPUs once again -- highfive to old-timers o/ |

| the issue is i can't find info about my motherboard anywayz i put a 1.7 in it and i turn it on i can hear the fan spinning but in like 5 sec it shuts off,nothing on the screen......i guess it doesn;t support it |

You might need to set some jumper on the mobo
