I just got in a huge lot of CPU's a Pentium 4, socket 478. I am wondering if this has been remarked. The markings on it are as follows:
intel (r)
pentium (r)4
2.2 GHZ/512/400/1.5V
SL5YS MALAY
L146B381-0273
INTEL(M)(c)'01
I checked the sspec and it says this chip wasn't released until January 2002, but the date on this chip is week 46 of 2001. |

This is normal. Companies often start manufacturing production chips well in advance of official launch.

Often this early production ends up with the large OEMS and a good sign it was made for an OEM is the letter B after week 46. This means is was a high volume production lot and these were generally only done for an OEM orders _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:
