|
|
Hi I recently come across a few ES were made right after the production date. They looks fine but I cannot explain the datecode issue.
I did not buy them so I prefer not to post pictures.
I just ask questions:
Do you believe a Intel A80386DX-20 ES was made at 1991? While there are mass product of DX-20 at 1989. And Even a lot kinds of A80486 production were made between 1989~1991.
Another is AMD 486DX4100-V16BGC ES, its datecode is also far behind some normal productions of the same kind, which I mean same suffix and same stepping. _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

Intel 386DX-20 was made until 2007 and I have seen personally seen examples of 2002 production
just not sure when the final stepping first came out _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

well there is 4 known listed in CPU-World info pages
but an ES could also be for other reasons like a die shrink
can you post a picture of the bottom at least and see if die cap matches time period _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

markings look all good
this really looks like a qualification rather than a Engineering sample
found references to these.. so I would go for it
A80386DX-16 Q327
A80386DX-20 Q328
A80386DX-25 Q329 _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:
