fantastic work! Ha, I see you took my 4040 die shot, nice.
Did you cut all the holes with a simple cutter or did you have some professional help? - it looks like printed paper in frontbof foam?!?

I agree: fantastic work.

But I have some comments.

To me it would be unrealistic to buy these frames, why

there are a lot of double chips and I don't invest in double chips and to sell them later on, means to destroy the frame

8008 and later I have a lot of chips which could be added but how to add in a completed frame

Seems this collection is only suitable for investments or real museum.

I know some people here who would be very happy to get chips to complete their collection (me too).

Edgar

Ohh so thats where the die shot is from, anyway that was the best 4040 die photo I could find and i hope you don't mind me using it. Cool

For the frames I have used an anti static foam with an self adhesive photo paper attached to it and then using a scalpel to cut out the holes for the chips.
Made a page where you can see how it was made.

First I would like to point out that the only double chips is on the 3002 frame otherwise all chips are in some way different from others.

I am fully aware that bying the full collection or even just a frame may be uninteresting to many but by doing it this was I'm trying to attract other people that normaly wont just buy a single chip. And if I fail getting anyone interested in buying the entire collection I can always disassemble the frames and part the chips out.

No problem, I searched for years and never found a 4040 die shot. So I cracked one of mine and took that. I guess it is not the best but the only, lol
btw the different colours are a result of my 200x usb camera and the need to combine four single pictures.
