Buy a heat gun AND a good set of heavy duty gloves
as you will invariably burn your fingers. Cool

This is another reason I don't want a heat gun.

I can handle the gas device safely but I'm afraid I will burn my home accidentially if heat gun is used without correct instructor. Laughing

When you say gas device, do you mean your cooking stove?
I hope you use it outside.
Burning Gas emits Carbon Monoxide and it can kill you if it accumulates indoors. Surprised
Heat-gun is no danger since a good one has a switch that you turn off when you are finished desoldering an item.
...and it only emits hot air, not dangerous fumes.

Hi,

Yes, I mean the cooking stove. I turned all the fun on and opened all windows when I switched on the cooking stove to turn the cpu or board.

Health issue is another reason to buy the heat gun.

Thanks for your advice.

I love the licence plate. I am supposed to have an IBM 3278-2
green display coming in soon. I will try and post a picture of
that beast of a mainframe coaxial terminal that went on the 4341. Cool
