I like this explanation that I found in newsgropus:

I doubt they were custom, as I have them from several years, in 2 different speed grades.
I knwow Intel made a 2764, then fixed a few rthings with it and got the 2764A. But not sure how the 63 fits in (and 63-3) _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
