| That's my guess also as 51F1784 is 20 MHz part. |

I have an even better question.
What's its correct alignment in a socket?
I have one too and I had another one earlier that I couldn't bring it to life in the 386DX board I have that time. It got lukewarm but did nothing, no matter how I aligned it.
Now I don't dare try the same with the new one, I'm afraid I'd kill it - or the board. |

I'm not sure (my IBM metal can 386 are all at AVICC), but pretty sure if you look at the chip with the text right way up, pin A1 will be bottom left. I will be testing that when I get them forwarded. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

| Thanks in advance! Mine is S1F1784 anyway. And it was so 386 shaped I grabbed it and looked for it for a while - but my knowledge is still deficient... |

That's possible so I'd rather not experiment with this second one. |
