I had my computer upgraded. I paid for an AMD 3.4 gighz. CPU. But when I check my system info about my cpu it says AMD engineering sample xx 2000 mhz. Did I get ripped off? or is this right?

It's right, you bought a 3400+ AMD, not a 3.4GHz. It's real core speed is 2GHz.

3400+ is equal too or more than a 3.4ghz intel in performance. go to other tech sights also for further information on them before someone here tears amd another hole and leaves you feeling bad about your purchase Laughing
