Hello everyone, because it's my first post here.

Yestarday I received 2 strange P4, which are double marked. They are marked as 3.0GHz and 3.4GHz, although my board detects them as 3.0GHz. Is that something rare or it's rather not hard to find chip like this?

They're looking the same as this cpu on picture, which I found on the Internet.

Best regards

Most likely it wouldn`t run at 3.4 so they downgraded it.
I haven`t seen many but I don`t know how rare these are. I`m not the expert on these. Someone else will probably be able to give more info.

These are not rare. At the moment you can buy them on eBay for less than $10:

There a few more of them on eBay for cheap. Don't pay attention to this seller Smile -

I noticed he wants to charge extra for shipping to Hawaii, so I just sent him the following question:

"Would you consider free shipping to Hawaii? I'm not that rich, so every penny counts,
especially when dropping several 100,000 $$ on an item. " icon_crazy

Can it be transmitted that Intel has a tool that can change the characteristics of an already finished chip?
