| I'm planning to replace my ageing LGA 775 Pentium 4 system with a new LGA 1155 platform. My motherboard of choice is the Gigabyte GA H61M-DS2. However it has 5 rev. (rev.1.0, rev.1.2, rev. 2.0, rev.2.1 & rev.2.2). What does it mean? Does it have something to do with B3 stepping? I'm hesitant to buy it at the moment coz it has no B3 stepping yet. It might have a SATA error on it just in case I'll buy it. Please advice. I don't have any idea what this thing is all about. Thank you! |

What's your budget?
What are you planning to do with this system? E.g. gaming, editing, music? |

For normal use it is better to buy revision as high as possible. As you said in previous rev. could be some cosmetic/hardware problems but that isn't a rule. Just for example Gigabyte on P35 chipset was better with lower rev. Why ? They had better power section and later revises had worse overlocking and cooling. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
