i started to benchmark my CPUs and i have a dilemma: found 2 cpu with almost same performance but one is single core and the second dual core at the same speed... same socket... the only difference is that single core has 1 MB level 2 cache and the dual core has 2 x 512KB...

In the case of the dual core CPU all the tasks are done only by one core? or the cache makes the difference ( 1 MB being way better than 2 x 512) ? Why did they scored the same? Thank you

Benchmark might not be multithreaded, so it doesn't load the second CPU core???

Cache doesn't make much difference in these CPUs as I remember. This benchmark must be single threaded (you can always check CPU cores usage in task manager to confirm this).

The benchmark is single threaded. You could have a hundred cores, and it'd score the same.
