Everyone must know by now I'm intel 100%...

I've just found a nice little video to back that up...

What does "Thermal diode fails" mean in the last part?? Did they construct the test board themselves??

Everyone knows that AMD1400 is the most hottest cpu ever. Even then, isn't it fast? =) Anyway no one does make any use of it nowadays.

Actually this is a pretty ancient video. I fink that an AMD64 would not burn up like the rest.

Still not convinced, sammyc Very Happy

I presume that they mean the thermal diode that is located in the centre of the CPU socket A.

And as for the Athlons running so hot... I wonder what sort of speeds the P4's of the day could have run at if they were pushed as hard as the shoddy flimsy, over heating, die cracking athlons Smile

I ran an Athlon 1400 OC'd to 1500 for 2 years, it ran fairly well (occasionally had issues cold booting) It did run very hot but I had a swiftec MC462 to keep it cool.

Worked well, I have seen many dead athlons but ALL of them were do to improper installation, Intel got smart and put a heatspreader on their chips, AMD has now followed suite.

The Athlon 1400 dissipates 73.5W, according to wikipedia.

A Pentium 4 3.6gz does 115W.. Granted, a 3.6ghz P4 is going to be quite a bit faster than an Athlon 1400, but still, its by no means the 'hottest cpu ever'.

My Athlon 900 in mom's PC isn't hot. Temperature is from 35 to 42 degrees (in Prime torture test) in closed microATX case. I use fake Arctic Copper Silent (about 6 USD). I know, now is winter. In summer I'm not suspect more than 38-46 degrees.

Haha I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but a 3.6GHz overclocked to 3.8GHz is equal to an FX55, and quite cheaper I might add Wink Not to mention that every 3.6GHz cpu I've had (went through 3 different types, the 560J, 561, and 660) each overclocked to a bootable 4.32GHz, stable at 4.2GHz 24/7, and suicide run at 4.5GHz on air Smile

Amd no doubt has good cpu's, but the FX series a bit too expensive for the power you get. Also keep an eye out as Intel are releasing new cpu's that should be really fast (yonah cores are dothan style DIEs with more ops/cycle and a higher clock speed than the original dothans. Not too mention they're dual core!!!) dothan cpu's are the same ones that when overclocked, ran faster than an FX55 and almost on par with an FX57.

nanana, you guys are just not getting it !!!
Its not about overclocking this and who can overclock that and his gets to hot and.........
No its like I said---->

Put them side by side(normal clock) play the game see who cries!!!
Nothing wrong with Intel, but they shoulda left them in the offices and out of "gamers homes". Wink

But anyways, if you guys want to be proud of the name "Intel" and The"Slowron"(Celeron) so be it Laughing

Have to agree, I did pay more, But At least I did'nt by mine at "Wallmart"!!! Laughing

lets just say.. for the topics sake... side by side - you have a lightning storm in your town.. and unluckily it fries both CPU's (quite possible).

You will be able to get a replacement CPU WITHIN 24 hours from Intel (upto 3 at a time I might add) couriered from Ireland. Your faulty intel will be collected at the same time.

For The AMD Chip. You will have to parcel it up. Take it down your post office. Ship it off to Holland ( at your expense) and wait a few weeks for your replacement to arrive.

Just one point I like to keep bringing up.

boy, you guys go threw alot of troubles! Not sure what your talking about, but I just go down to my local pc store and get a replacment within 2seconds !!!They handle all that shipping thing themselves, and replace the part right away(They have plenty of part too).!

I'll just add one more thing --->

All "Animatted cartoons" Are all Prefered built-up with AMD pc's so far!!!
So..........with that said.Graphics and Performance= AMD!!! Not only to my eyes!
