Seek advice to remove the SUN Ultrasparc lid

Hi all,

I have some damaged SUN Ultrasparc cpus. I want to remove the lid without damaging the die. Does anyone have any advice?

Maybe gently clamp it by it's edges, and heat the *(@# out of it with a heat gun?

I've had some come off clean, and some take half the die with them

Might soak it in a solvent (like xylene) first, loosen the glue

How long will you soak it? Will a week be fit for it?
