when I was looking at this on ebay.. noticed it has a similar pin-out to a 21164
but with an extra row of pins on the inside

is it the same size as a 21164?

my first thought when I saw it.. was a bond-out
but now I'm working on probably a memory module to provide L3 cache for a 21164 instead of external srams

Yes, its has the 21164 similar pin but with difference pin-out.

It size is smaller than the 21164.

Or will it be a IO controller?

Besides, it should be with the large heatspreader according to the glue mark.

Will it be the similar type of IO processor.
