I bought something on impulse and I think I have something amazing - no it is not a 4004 wafer but it is OLD. I bought a bunch of wafers off a guy and also a wafer template mask. I have just got the wafers today and will let you guys have pics and notes as I get them under my microscope - there are about 90 or so 4" wafers with dies and also ONE 3" wafer with dies.

The wafer mask template is in a box and is approximately 4" x 4" with an active mask area of about 3 4/16" x 3 4/16" and the box is marked.... well look at the photo.......anyone know about this item at all and care to speculate what it might be a mask of?

And yes the date reads September 21st 1977!!!

Based on what number?
the part number

see above the second option may be a better guess

Rob maybe I am being a bit thick but which part number on the mask box led you to the two options above? I suppose 1977 vintage it is no longer available?

Good point, as I said my guess was pure speculation and I missed the date on the pdf
However I do think it is a TI mask

download the pdf (6 Pages) and read it
Top of Page states "SDLS147 – SEPTEMBER 1972 – REVISED MARCH 1988"
