|
|
Hi there,
My Acer Aspire 5735 has a Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 processor @ 2.0ghz and I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the processor to a Pentium E5300 @ 2.6ghz.
Is this possible and will I suffer any adverse effects?
Thanks,
Zaq |

| They're different sockets. The T5800 is PGA478, the E5300 is a LGA775. |

Thanks for the reply.
What types of processor would I be able to upgrade to if I wanted better?
Cheers,

| The fastest Core 2 Duo mobile chip I know of with an 800FSB is the Core 2 Duo T9500 ( 2.6GHz, 6M Cache), which would run circles around your T5800 (2.0GHz, 2M Cache) and should work just fine. I'm not certain that laptop will support chips with a faster FSB. |
