Recently I have sold several items on e-bay which I thought were transacted well. The buyer in all cases has not left any feedback. I would understand if the transaction did not go well but that that doesn't seem to be the case. I have contacted the buyer with no response. Am I to assume that the transaction was not satisfactory? I have blocked these buyers from buying from me on e-bay. Anyone else here experienced the same???

I have had the same but from sellers. I have had feedback 2 months later and sometimes no feedback. I guess some buyers and sellers can`t be bothered.

I think a large problem is that eBay does not place any onus on the buyer to actually leave feedback. Maybe the occasional reminder, but there doesn't seem to be any incentive, good or bad, for the buyer to take less than a minute to fill out the feedback. I agree, though...eBay should certainly address this issue.

I've probably had 1000+ successful transactions on eBay, and my feedback is 221. I always leave feedback, but most people don't bother. Honestly, since the feedback system is so flawed and is really meaningless, I don't blame them either.

+1, I now, only leave feedback (as a seller) after a buyer leaves it for me.

I always leave feedback. If selling, I leave feedback upon paymment, and when buying I do so on receipt of my goods. Most of my transactions are purchases, and about 10% leave feedback before me. Probably something similar never leave fedback, but it never bothers me enough to take a proper count or not leave any Smile

Yes, I normally don't leave feedback on ebay. There are several reasons:

- the system of feedback is useless, like ebay is ebay using it. If a seller isn't allowed to tell the truth (maybe through neutral / negative feedback), so we all always say "everything is fine"... bla bla. No it wasn't. This is not honest.

- it takes time

- in Germany you will be punish by the collection office if you have too many private sales. So getting and leaving no feedback makes it a bit less easy to be looked through.

I hate the fact a seller can leave whatever feedback they want, and it sticks, even if you were in the right. However, as a seller, if the buyer pays (no matter how slowly) you MUST leave a positive feedback, even if they try to screw you, etc after the fact. A long time ago I sold something "as-is, untested" and must have stated 10 times in the auction that it was purchased as surplus, and I have no way to test it and make no guarantees on it's condition what so ever. It turns out the item didn't work. So what happens? The seller left a negative feedback that the "item didn't work! ripoff!". Funny, I clearly stated that it may not work. I petitioned ebay to remove or revise the feedback, and they declined to, even though my auction terms stated "as is for parts only". I typically only leave feedback to a buyer after they leave me a positive now.

I would advise not to block such buyers. I myself have some of those, and they are good no fuss repeat buyers. Some of them looks like businesses to me, from what I can read from the shipping address.
