Usually the SIP components are resistor or capacitor networks.

Hi Elar,

I have one more for you please, this is found on the floppy disk controller that is mounted inside the external 8-inch floppy drive cabinet, IBM labels this external cabinet as the 6360

http://i.imgur.com/VtMxSqj.jpg

The unknown 40-pin plastic DIP has the number:

Intel 4430030 8139

I assume the last 4 digits (8139) are the date code? year 1981 week 39?

On this board there is also an Intel 4178628 that you have identified previously as the 8255A-5 and a NEC D765D floppy disk controller.

thanks for looking.

Is the date-code interpretation correct though?

Better late than never Smile
The 4430030 is Intel 8041 slave microcontroller. Bitsavers even has firmware dump from it.
