I am planning to upgrade from XEON W3520 to XEON X5570 with the intension to save power and gain memory bandwidth.
However I am wondering if the lack of SSE 4.2 (specifically the Vectorising extensions) on the X5570, which seems to have been replaced by Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d),
will negatively effect my 3D gaming performance ? |

Are the games you play taking advantage of that feature?
No. Is it meant for games? No.
