morkork be ready to lost MHz competition in AMD 5x86 for 486 system.
I started thinking it is fake. Multiplier is 4x in AMD 5x86 P75 so system bus must be 37,50 MHz. It have no sense. Who think it is real CPU and who think it is fake ? |
I think seller said he bought it at a computer fair in the AMD booth. The original thread is at cpu-museum.de somewhere.

In Fakt is DX4. 3x 50MHz = 150MHz. Where is the problem

This isn't DX4 but DX5. Manufacturer wrote this at same time suggesting higher multiplier then DX4. That is my opinion.
At first time I thinked same as you Frank but now when I see nothing on amd.com I'm worried  I wonder it is real CPU. It is very mysterious.

... I'd agree - 50 x 3,
actually - does the CPU actually run at 150MHz or just 75???

Must run at 150 MHz. Comparable with Pentium 75 at performance.

But this could wrote somebody from cpu-world.com forum who saw this CPU. Still I'm not sure. I would like to hear opinion from experienced CPU collectors - not offence to anybody.

how about an experienced engineer? not a cpu collector.
The 133 ran at 33 x 4 this was an X5
making it quite obvious that the 150 ran at 33.3 x 4.5

yknow, kind of off topic, but i had a x5 133, and when i ran it, it always ran at 120mhz no matter what i did.
if theyre hard wired for a 4x multiplier, that woudl be a 30mhz fsb, which makes no sense..?
morkork, if we're agreed that the 150 is legit, id like your permission to upload your scan of it to wikipedia and put it in the 5x86 article..

the 133 is runs at 133! 4.0 x 33
if it only ran at 120, then something wasnt right
