E5420 and E5430 together

Don't know what happened - my first post on this tpoic vanished from the forum after a few minutes. Apologies if it shows up twice.

I have an older server with a single E5420 processor, and two sockets on the motherboard. A friend has offered me an extra E5430. Can the two coexist without problems? Do I need to provide more details on the machine?
