What do the codes after the date code on a K6-2 mean?
For example, I have 4 K6-2/400 CPUs, and the codes after the date code are:
1) MPMW (on a K6-2/400AFQ)
2) GPIW (on a K6-2/400AFR)
3) GPCW (on an AFR)
4) BPMW (on an AFR)
Do these relate to steppings or anything that indicates a variant?
All have "A" at the start of the date code line. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

A is a stepping. As for the last four characters... I've heard that it's a production code that can used to identify day of week when the chip was produced, and maybe other production information.

I thought that as well (and the docs say it...), but of the 3 K6-2/300AFR processors I have, the one with the earliest date code has the higher revision code.
E 9829....
A 9837....
A 9846....
Maybe it's the engravers equivalent of a misprint Would be nice (for rarity value), but I highly doubt it _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
