What format are using for these auctions?

1) Highest bidder pays what they offer
eg offer $100 & pay $100

2) Highest bidder pays "ebay type increment" above 2nd highest bidder
eg 1st $100 2nd $80.. 1st bidder pays $80 + ebay bid increment (on $80 think is $2.50

3) Highest bidder pays mid point between 1st & 2nd bid
eg $100 2nd $80.. Ist bidder pays $90

I have tried all 3 methods, but each have their pros & cons
but the common denominator is that some (and sometimes many) members will not partake in forum auctions.
Some I know will not partake in type 1 format as they have bid on previous auctions way above the next bidder
and the seller has then sold more at lower 2nd bidder's price
eg 1st $100 2nd $50.. 1st bidder pays $100 and then seller sells spares at $50.

I doubt you have spares of any of these... but these members who have been burnt this way.. will NOT participate the forum auctions now

The sale method I haven't tried is to start with a set price above with what you think is the market price
and each day lower it until someone buys
basically its a game of chicken Laughing

All my auktions are typ 1, "highest bidder pays what they offer".

In the past i participated on several auktions typ 1, "highest bidder pays what they offer" and i bid what the item is worth for me.
