Ok, instead of arguing about who has the best storage, lets try to collaborate on the 'ultimate chip storage' system..
First we shoud decide what such a system needs to accomplish.. IMO it should have several goals:
1) Protection
These are an investment, and a hobby.. They're not worth much if theyre all scratched up.. so the first and most important goal should be to protect the chips.
2) Display
We're (at least, I am) collecting these both to enjoy looking at them and to show them off to others.. So the ultimate storage system should easily display them (by being mostly transparent) and be easy to get to (such as single-layer drawers, so you dont have to dig through a few layers to find what you want)
3) Access
The ultimate storage should be easily searchable.. You should be able to find exactly what you want quickly. So, like #2, the storage should be single-layer, so you dont have to remove any layers to get to what you want. It should also be labelled visibly so you know what youre going for. A label gun is probably best for labeling..
4) Compact
The best storage should take up as little room as possible. We don't all own warehouses.. So, it should be stacked, but with drawers, so you can get to each layer individually..
I think that covers the basics? |
