I just found something that I'd have paid hundreds of times the start price for, and I can guarantee that the price will go higher than if the start price was at least 100 times more than it is - more people will look in than if there was a high start price, because the item description misses out the most important part of what it is!
I'm not going to say what it is - I hope that those who know how to figure it out don't bid beyond my maximum bid, I'm starting to run out of spending power (did someone just say HOORAY! ?)

I've reviewed all your auctions and I didn't see something special, except the Nx586-80... |

I actually have real issues about this. Some privacy laws in some EU countries prevent searching a bidders history. Here in the UK we are not protected from this. I get really annoyed about this. I am the last one to suggest new rules, but its good etiquette to respect privacy.

That's not the one that I was referring to. No way I'd have said anything if I thought someone was going to post that I'm bidding on that particular item, I've been looking for one of those for years! I don't need the price pushing way up (I've even held off bidding on a couple of nice items when I knew there was another collector bidding, in order not to push prices up, and I certainly wouldn't advertise their bids!

I would have liked that one, it's one of my larger gaps in my i486 collection, but I'm sure it won't be forever before another one turns up.
I'm going to avoid saying too much about the one I specially want, although it's no big deal if I don't get it as I just realised I have a couple of the same type of processor already and even if it's a while before another the same turns up I have been overspending a little lately!
Oh well, the joys of being compulsive and bored it's doing wonders for my collection but not for my bank manager
