I updated them, and also changed the part number to "P4040 (remarked)". I may eventually introduce new field, where it will be possible to select condition or package type, so that the part number field includes a valid part number.

cheers Genna
my concern is if things like that aren't noted.. in 5 or 10 years they will considered as totally genuine in all aspects
Previous to opening them up.. about 15 + were sold.. most likely for collections and most likely not noted as remarks _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

"Interesting eBay auctions" pages is not the best place to inform about fake chips. They are limited to one picture per auction, and the comment length is limited to 255 characters. Maybe we should have a sticky in the VICCA or some other forum, and post detailed pictures there.

Yep.. been collecting pics of ones sold or I have bought
Intention was to create a thread detailing them.. and the supply source
The P4040s I have opened... but have other chips I still need to open and confirm they are fakes or unofficial remarks
Next to open is some NOS Intel A80C186-12s
The thread would only for chips with a reasonable supply amount... not the one offs you see on ebay every week _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

There was a two-three months gap in updating the eBay auctions database. I'm happy to report that most of interesting August, September and October auctions are now in the database. There are still issues submitting some auctions due to the date field being blank. This happens because eBay does not always provide ending date on the auction pages. I had some ideas how to extract this date from other eBay pages, so this should be fixed in a week or two.

I've made changes to the script, and it should now be better at grabbing auction date. Basically, if the script cannot find ending date on the completed auction page, it will load an alternative version of the page, and look for the date there.
