*edited* thanks to debs for checking my work. i misread the info on power consumption.

http://www.legitreviews.com/gigabyte-radeon-hd-7770-oc-video-card-review_1873/10

7770 = Minimum of a 450 Watt power supply.
7770 draws 100 watts at full load.
the processor pulls 100 watts.

anyway that makes no difference on a hot cpu. my phenom ii x6 1045t is a 95 watt and likes hanging around 40c at idle on a stock cooler. considering there is no cooler in the listings i'm going to have to assume you are on a stock cooler and thus in a 75 degree room, i could see 40C ish as being normal. my processor is running at 2.7 ghz, where yours is 3.4 ghz that boosts to 4 ghz. it's going to give off some heat.

rule of thumb for me is 65c is crash temperature.

by the way i see that your fan was only at 69% during the 82C, that can be an issue. stock coolers are not good coolers so i would recommend putting your cpu fan speed on 100% and see where it takes you. even with 100% don't expect anything less than 40c.

That's incorrect. The 7770 has a TDP of 80W, and as it only uses a single 6-pin power input could never use over 150W without potentially overloading the PSU or motherboard.

Rise and fall temp in a second isnīt wierd thing, senzors are in the silicon so they are very fast.

Have you got a CPU fan inserted in the "CPU fan" connector in the motherboard? Upgrade board to the latest BIOS. Run CPU burn tool Prime95 -64bit check temperatures and also touch the bottom of the heatsink if isnīt too hot. Have you got latest version CPUID monitor tool? Old version may misread sensorīs output.

Download 64bit version, run the program, click options -> torture test -> choose in plase large FTTs (max heat.. then wait and read the temperatures.

Maybe you have the hungry CPU, every piece of silicon is a different and some CPUs are mory power hungry then the others. Box CPU has quite small heat sink and if you buy better CPU cooler temperatures will go down.

I have an after market cooler already 2 intake 2 exhaust, a manual control on my cpu fan that I can use to make it 100% all the time. It literally just does nothing for my temps. Im done messing with this its been way to long. I am sending this back and going with an Intel cpu and motherboard Thanks for the help everyone.
