What is a 'collectible' chip?

Excuse me asking... I'm new here.. but what do you mean 'collectible' ? Are there some chips it's not worth having? Or some chips one should collect?

"Collectible" mostly means CPUs, MCUs and EPROMs, although as you get to know the site you will see some other chips and related items sold in this section. What is collectible to any individual is subjective as not everyone collects the same chips.
