Pretty poor quality fake. Sadly this was out of a tube of mixed EPROMs in the bottom of a box full of chip goodness, so not out of a board - which would have been better. From the remains of the glue residue I assume this was installed and working.
The package is quite distinctive. I dont want to remove all the top marking to reveal what it really is.. maybe someone knows what it really is.

I've never seen a fake EPROM before, but yeah it's pretty obvious when you look at yours.. Did the paint peel off when the sticker was removed or something?
Maybe you could clean the sticker residue off the window and have a look at the die? Don't see many EPROM's with gold legs either. |

I didn't peel the sticker back, there was no sticker. These are as they were sold/give/traded with me. I cant remember when/where/how I acquired these. I didn't collect EPROM actively ( I still dont ), so I didn't pay much, if anything at all for these. I think. I don't remember.

Another fake:
I dont think this is fake. The die does not match the fakes above, so I dont think it is this chip. (Nice die !! )
I'll wait a bit longer to see if anyone has more info before I remove the fake remark.
The gold legs are kinda cool, and I don't remember seeing EPROM with gold legs and ceramic package like this. John has so many EPROM I dont want to spend 3.4years clicking through all his EPROM. I am sure he has these. |

Ok, thanks. 1 out 10 for effort, it looks ghetto.
Also, the construction of the OKI an NS parts are very similar, maybe made in the same place. Maybe I can see something on the dies. |

think the only fake eproms I have seen have been MIL 1702s remarked into Intels
one into a C1702 & the other into a C1702A _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:
