Apologies for the very off topic thread firstly....
I have just received shipment of 100 Pallets full of industrial equipment. Including rackmount Cases, back planes, CPU boards, .. anything rackmount related really.
I am going to test the water on Ebay for some of this equipment. I want to offer some of these rackmount cases for worldwide shipment.
I have only ever shipped small parcels (upto 2kg) over sea's and have always used the UK's Royal mail.
Please can anyone give me advice on what couriers / services to use on items that are 10kg + ?
I will post an example auction on here as soon as one is ready.
Thank you in advance. _________________ 4000+ chips.

ok dude..
Shipping large items is a pain in the sitting position. ( over 2Kg )
There are a ton of "low cost" companies out there..
www.parcel2go.com
www.parcelflight.com
etc.. do a web seach..
some of them are actually covers run by the larger boys ( I think parcel2go is dhl)
of these types I have used parcel2go.com several times and they were OK. Tracking is a pain in the sitting position as well.
.. but in the end......... ( Linkin Park )
I went back to using FedEx and UPS.
Fedex can give you a bloody good rate, turn the charm on for the fedex lady/man, small parcels to USA can cost £40 express! UPS are harder to get a discount from
Only downside with fedex is they want paying every 2 weeks. |

This is an auction... Which I want to offer worldwide...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5859413415
Please note people - that this is not a FOR SALE thread I don't expect any of you to be interested - I just need advice on international shipping on large items. _________________ 4000+ chips.

| the problem with guessing is that if youre wrong, you cant very well go back to the buyer and say 'i need another $20' |

actually you can
its all there in the rules on ebay, but its best not to get it wrong in the first place.
the final out is to mutually agree to not complete the transaction. |

On the contrary, If you have overpriced shipping, buyer could let you a negative feedback when he will realize this... |

if you STATE the shipping costs the buyer is obligated to pay them.
but if you say 'shipping is $20' and then say 'oops sorry it actually cost me $40 ill need $20 more' then the buyer is under no obligation to pay you.
you can say in your auction that the shipping price is APPROXIMATE, but you cant say $40 when you said approximately $20.. etc
in short, pick a shipping company and find out their rates |
