If they end up doing that they will be opening the door to a competitor starting up doing what they did originally.............I wonder if they realize that Question

I'm doing upgrade of the database and some other software on the server, and there were some problems with DB tables during database upgrade. Hopefully I'll be able to fix it once the upgrade is over.

The table is corrupted, so it will be fixed only tomorrow.

in the US, almost EVERYTHING can be patented (online NZ which has a much more reasonable patent system)

Would they not be in jeopardy of breaking anti trust laws by having a monopoly?

Yup, but no attention has been paid to them for some reason.

They ARE a monopoly, and monopolies ARE legal, as long as they are not abused, which anyone with half a brain can see that eBay is doing

It begs the question of why they want to do that. Why chase away all the small time sellers? Don't a large number of people go to eBay to buy or sell cheap, second hand goods? If it comes down to just having large sellers selling new goods, how is eBay different from any other online shop?

Gshv, what do you mean by sellers being purged? Just to shut up shop and go home?

large sellers and selling ads is their goal, they see themselves as a competitor to amazon more then an auction site now

Yes, it does look like they want to compete with Amazon.

I think some were suspended, and others had their selling privileges revoked. There were some claims that 15.000 sellers were blocked, but the source of this information is questionable:

eBay appears to have taken another step lower. Saved searches are now known as "followed searches" (whatever that means) and here's the thing. You can't rename them. So you end up with loads of searches entitled "Title and Description"

You can! Click the Refine button with the sprocket, and you can change the search terms and the name!
