|
|
Some of you will have been wondering what the auction I was rambling about recently was that I especially wanted to win. Now I can tell you!
I found a complete Nexgen Nx586 based system on ebay.de with an Nx586-80 in it. I contacted the seller about shipping, telling him that it is actually just the motherboard and processor I want, and he said 32 EUR for the complete system or 8.60 EUR for just the MoBo and CPU! I just won it for 45.50 EUR, less than half of what I was prepared to pay for my first Nexgen motherboard
The link for anyone that wants to see details of the system (including BIOS number, posted as a reply to a question by mtx500) is: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nexgen-Rechner-586-80-in-Multimediagehaeuse-von-Aquarius_W0QQitemZ8753019353
Once I receive it, I'll try to get hold of a scanner or camera for long enough to post images of the boards and the 3 processors (currently my favourite items, even if I don't have them all yet). _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I couldn't believe my luck when it finished at that price. I put in a last minute maximum bid of 100 EUR, just to be sure of getting the motherboard and processor
The system was built by Aquarius (I don't know them) so I doubt the case was a Nexgen case. As such I'm not bothered with that - an extra 23.40 EUR to get the rest of the system is too much, after the offer I received this morning...
I just got offered enough old computers to need to hire a 7.5 ton truck for a weekend to move them! Thew guy said if I take any of them I have to take the lot - an offer I just can't refuse! My spare bedroom is going to become a computer warehouse for a while I may even be able to keep the bailiffs at bay when I start stripping some of them down to put on eBay, and I'm sure I'll find some interesting processors for my collection and trade list Hmm, I guess I'd better stop buying and start selling for a while (although not any CPUs yet) until I get to hire that truck... _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Excellent price! I think you got it cheap because it's such a heavy system, and if any collector from America/Canada or Asia wanted to buy it, shipping would be murder. You got the edge, Ma'am. |

And I had the foresight to ask if the seller minded removing the board for me - that's what made it so much more worthwhile to bid on
MrKenny: You got REAL lucky there! And now that I'm browsing several eBay sites worldwide I'm starting to see what bargains there are to be had - I'll be revising the amount I offer for some processors now I know how cheap it can be on some sites _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Hmm... 50 Euro... cheap? Don't think so. The one by MRKennedy is cheap The case is not a case the Nexgen was sold in Germany. _________________ Frank. |

IMHO the price is O.K. (but not a bargain buy)
A Nexgen P80 is more rare than a P90. On Ebay you always see P90 but not often P80 and P100 _________________ best regards borris

I had one of those cases before. It has a built in amplifier that you plug a cable from the out on the soundcard to it`s input. It had great sound.
