Man, it must of been a couple of years since i have been here... many things changed, actually a lot of things have changed. I got little ones around me and not that much of a time to spare since i am new to it Cool) i bet many of you have kids...
Life goes on.

Missed this forum a lot.

As of chips, few places that i used to get my silicon from are now either bought out by bigger companies, or went out of business, which is very sad, as not much access to good source of interesting vintage electronics no more...
Not sure what to do with my collection as of right now... i may set it for sale.

Glad to see you all!

- it certainly did Cool hehe

Added: because of a need for a descent microscope for my business i bought my self a unit that allows to magnify up to 100x via optics and planning to get set for magnification for up to 200x. It was pretty cool to see silicon dies in it.
p.s. i do have a biological one that goes up to 950x via optics but its real pain to light up the specimen and its old, cant do pictures simultaneously, versus my new one that allows live digital feed to PC.
will try to get some pics if you folks are interested, as i remember some people DO have scopes already and did post some pics here.

I'm of course interested in any new die shots, especially ones showing complete dies. I've taken die shots of over 100 chips already, but some important ones are still missing: http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22149. You can use my list to find some interesting CPUs that aren't photographed yet, and I would be really happy if you could help with those either by taking die shots or helping me get those chips.

Hello Birdman,
call me blind... lol i did not see that there is a whole thread for DIE SHOTS ...
Especially yours, just looked over quite of a few pages - NICE !
i definitely cant compete with number of chip dies you have taken pics of...
Dies that i have looked at from my collection are mostly ones that have glass lens in them for UV, dont have a desire to pop my own chips just out of curiosity, many of them are still in working order.
Will share some shots, when i get a bit more time Cool
