Just put my hand on a really strange ES chip :

Look like a retail P166 or perhaps an early sample overdrive. I never saw suck markings on a chip.

Any idea ?

Its odd that the spec on the Fan doesnt quite match the one on the chip.
Any markings on the bottom?

I have a feeling this is a Pentium Overdrive 166. I was eying this chip for long time, but the price was a bit high.

I think he usually knows what he's selling. There may be exceptions, of course...

I've got an impression he does it on purpose. Many of them are priced not as high as real ES processors he's sellling. Anyway, if you test the KV855MP1BA chip let us know the results.

Yeah. LGA1567 is still the current MP platform and boards are damn expensive. But the price of server parts are quickly dropping over time. In a couple of years, those boards will be available for a few bucks.

My main concern right now is to find a board for early AMD K8 ES. I will start a new thread about this issue :-/
