|
|
I noticed that some people set up scripts to ping the forum once in a while, and check for new posts. I'm fine with this this as long as the scripts don't do these checks every few seconds. Checking once a minute is not going to get you blocked, but I don't recommend to do it more more often than that. Be aware that I still haven't fixed some back-end scripts, and currently it's not possible for visitors to un-block their IP address. That is something that should be done by me manually.
On related note, a visitor from 81.38.217.76, please stop your process that checks the forum every 12 seconds.

| i would ban all the scripts so that it is a fair playground for all the collectors. But that's just me. |

Forum member ch_v, please change your feednotifier settings to 1 minute or greater. The forums.xml file, checked by that tool, is updated 4 times per hour (every 15 minutes), so it doesn't make sense to check it every 10 seconds.

I was thinking of creating a script like that =)
It's fairly easy... I can add people to the "notify me" list...
But i agree with alp... We should ban all scripts for the fair play. _________________ !Ch@nge_Me! |

wouldn't it be a deal to allow RSS-feeds?
my reader is set on 100 minutes update Interval.
I check this forum maybe one, two times a week, and i missed some cool chips. RSS would be a real help...
//EDIT:
and as RSS isn't some magic, anybody can use it.
And you know which users are updating way too often! |

I visit the forum only once a day on purpose, otherwise I spend too much money here. Using a script would defeat that purpose. |
