A 10,000 sqft warehouse filled with 1960-1990 mainframes and IBM 360/370 era items. . This is an estate of a former IBM employee who hoarded equipment for 30+years...everything will be for sale soon

I put a couple videos together that I'm still editing but thought I'd give you guys on the forum a sneak peak. This place is a once in a lifetime find!!

I remember you posted about this a while back. Is any of it for sale? Reason I ask is because I'm about a 2 hour drive from Dallas.

It will all be for sale soon. We've been selling a few items on eBay but are getting ready to go direct to the collectors. These are just a handful of items in the dirt essentially. The warehouse is packed with mainframe on top of mainframe!

We were contracted as their e-waste recycler and precious metal refiner. These pictures and videos are from when we first started and didn't realize just how collectible this warehouse was...hence the talk about gold and circuit board PM content on the video..
The destruction of the materials has halted and we've been hired to handle the sale of items too.

We're trying to work fast to get an initial inventory list together for everyone. I'll post more ASAP.

Thanks
Eric

I think the IBM terminal on the left at one minute into the video is
an IBM 3277 terminal or possibly a console monitor for an IBM mainframe.

Flash back!!! Cool

It has been a long time since this thread was updated. Please can you give us an update? I am a voluntary curator of a non-funded museum housed in the Hursley location of IBM in the UK, where the S360/40 was developed. We would hope to be able to add a model 40 to our collection if one of these were available.

Thank you!
Peter.

Please give us a link to your non-funded association or maybe photo gallery. I'm very curious how IBM museum would looks like.

So what about the mainframes? It has been almost a year and we hear that: it's gonna be soon. Has it been going on or has the sale not started yet? There are many collectors here who would be very interested to come, see and spend some money!

I would add that we collectors are an excellent resource for identifying vintage computing -- the sooner you post some photos the sooner you'll know what you're dealing with!
