What does "*" mean on K6-2? Rare?

I have 40 K6 chips. and none of them have a (*)

ive got oen or two with a *. i asked about it before, i believe it means theyre mobile or something

mines a k6 1 though, not a k6-2:

i have a k6-2 thats 2 weeks newer than yours, also 500afx, but no *:

i dont know about the mobile theory though.. 2.1/3.3.. i guess for a k6 thats low, but yours seems kinda high to be a mobile k6-2?

I just checked 29 K6-2, including a 500AFX with date code 0010 and a 450AFX with date code 0007, and 9 K6, and none have the *.

Only if I suggested that someone had actually done that, and I don't believe that anyone who posts regularly here would do that. Besides, it would be easy to see if it had been done with an engraving tool that didn't cost a lot more than what anyone could make out of it...
