so, there was this auction... a lot of unusefull ics and 4 Intel white grey traces C3106... i asked the seller if he sells those 4 chis alone.. the answer was yes, i paid them.. and... in listing's picture there were white grey traces and he sent me white ones .. no grey traces...

i asked him why the difference , and his answer was:
"Hi;
Grey traces?
The only group of 4 gold top chips in the pictures are these. They are pictured next to the red 7 segment displays.
Regards"

The dots are test dots, that means that they have been tested to spec.
I see what you mean regarding been able to see the chip trace, to me its the same
chip a its the same number as opposed to how it looks, different fab plants would make
slightly different body's but still to factory spec, anyhow if you dont want them send them back and I will send your money back.

they were cheap so i kept them... but im not sure if i did ok... because he sent other chips than pictured and lied me that the chips are the ones in the picture..

what would you do instead of me?

It depends whether you think the chips you received are worth what you paid, and whether you want them.

If no to both, I would ask for a full refund.
If you want them but not at the price you paid, ask for a partial refund.
If you want them and are not unhappy with the price then all should be fine

Similar thing happened to me, photos and chips received did not match. It was a $30 deal, I asked the seller to reimburse 50%, the seller apologized for the confusion, reimbursed 50% and I left a positive feedback.

since he didnt admit that are not the same chips, i couldnt ask for some discount.. anyway was a good price..

With the picture contrast being blown out like that it's hard to tell.. I kinda see what you're talking about though.. If they were cheap i wouldn't bother..
