Heres some of my ST M27C322's in my collection.. I knew when i bought them that there were two die sizes, but now that i've put more of them side by side, i realize there are three
The first one is dated 9944, the second 0208, the third 0435, and the fourth 0812..
The interesting thing is that the 99 and 00 vintage ( i have some others of these that are between 0002 and 0016, they're the large die as well, but laser marked instead of ink printed) are the largest, then there was a slight die shrink for the 0208 one, then a major die shrink between the 0208 to 0435..
And then sometime in 2007-8, they must have needed more of these, but only had the "medium" sized dice in inventory, and made do with what they had i guess.. Also note the package color is darker, more of a black color compared to the tan/brown the older ones are.. They also went back to ink printing the label.
I'm about 90% sure the last one is genuine, the die matches the 2002 vintage one using a bare eye, i haven't put it under the microscope yet, and the package markings match for the font and size, the color is a bit different.
So does anyone else have some M27C322's that are in between these dates?? |

It's not unusual for a company to change their font over such a long production period _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
