trying to remove a heatsink, i broke a chip.. first in 5 years... do you have any ideea what this coould be?

Not a CPU, having a large view of the board and an idea of where it came from can help.
Better heating heatsinks with heatgun before starting prying them off. |

A bit hard to say without all the part numbers etc...
It might be a CPU but the die doesn't look like it, could be custom logic.
You could lend the die to Birdman for a nice photo |

i'll try to make a photo, and if i coulndt do it i'll send it to Birdman...

wow big heat spreader for this chip...
Also the white stickers on pcb may help us with part Number of pcb..
i have find some years ago a similar pcb with smaller heat spread and was ram controller after enough Research
Also imo not looks like custom logic or gate array ....
worth a research |
