Because as part of their claims on how good they were, they wrote benchmarks that were biased toward their own processors. The original P4 weren't as good as they claimed. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Besides those benchmarks, which are WebMark 2001 and SYSmark 2001, the complaint also claims that:
- they secretly paid to software companies to add Pentium 4 optimizations to programs, that were commonly used for benchmarking
- disabled some Pentium III features to make Pentium 4 look better
- used better memory for Pentium 4 tests, while using standard memory for Pentium III/Athlon tests.
