Don't want a link to old threads, or a discussion. I just want the best scanner I can buy to start cataloging my chips for my CPU Porn website.
Needs to handle Etched AMD K6-2's and have depth of field on Processors with factory heatsinks installed.
Will spend upto or around £100 / $180 / €140
Tell me what scanner to buy (preferably in the UK) with Ebay link, and I'll buy it...

Only on CCD sensor and propably Canon. If I could be you I would like to go to shop and test which model scan well. CPUs are very exacting items to scan so there is no guarantee expensive - better. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

| MY HP scanner does ok.. it must be 6+ years old now. Sometimes it takes long time to "wake up" if I havent used it for a long time. I wouldnt spend mega bucks on a scanner.. read a review though.. google the name and a review. |

I use a Canon CanoScan N670U (not very new) so i recommend you the Canon series LIDE (20,30,35,....) _________________ PSP Slim 3.71 M33-4 |

No, not Canon Lide, they are not suitable for object scanning because of the poor field of depth. You must get a scanner with CCD type image sensor.
I tried the LiDE, check below. I replaced that for a ScanJet 2400.
Canon LIDE 60 (With LED Indirect Exposure technology)
HP Scan Jet 2400 (With CCD charge-coupled device)

Yes that is good scanner too. That model is back off from "actual offer Canon" but still is chance to find it in computers wholesalers. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
