|
|
Hi all,
Trying to find a good way to store my chips. Would someone be kind enough to share a good source for ESD foam in the US? There were a couple suggested here some time back, but not all are still in business (jameco is one that is an option). Google yields some, but the prices are quite high. Looking for something that's reasonable and won't eat the legs.
What thickness do you use? Is there something better than ESD foam for storage?
Thanks! |

ESD foam tend to become mushy and crumbly with age, it corrode pins of circuit that are mounted on it.
So I would not recommend it at all for long term storage.
For a couple years it work just fine though. |

For DIPs simple A4-size cardboard flat boxes (height is about 1 cm)
work well for me without any foam. |

Hello fellow
anyone know the name of this item? Where to get it?
It's hard ELECTROSTATIC material that allows the insertion of pins and chips are kept fixed
Greetings and thanks in advance

That's high density ESD foam. Be careful if storing chips long term in it as it can decay and cause damage to pins. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
